Light globes in Sydney: the globe wall in Kensington

In short. Cosmo Lighting Kensington stocks light globes of every kind at 91-93 Anzac Parade: LED classic, candle, fancy round, reflector and decorative filament shapes, dimmable LED globes, GU10, MR16 12 V, G4, G9 and tubular stick globes, 12 to 24 V DC globes, smart globes, consumer value packs, and halogen and incandescent globes for fittings that still need them, from Philips, Osram, Ledvance, GE and Liquid LEDs.

Half the people who walk in are holding a dead globe. That is the right way to do it: the base, the shape, the voltage and the colour temperature all matter, and the team reads them at a glance. From a 12 V MR16 for an old transformer to a decorative filament globe for a bare pendant, it is on the shelf.

Replacing halogens with LED is the most common job: lower power bills, cooler fittings and globes that last years. We will tell you whether your transformer or dimmer needs to change too, and when it is cheaper to replace the fitting.

  • LED globes, every shape: Classic, candle, fancy round, reflector, tubular stick and decorative filament shapes in B22 and E27, E14 and E12.
  • Downlight and low-voltage globes: GU10, MR16 12 V, G4 and G9 LED globes, plus 12 to 24 V DC globes and accessories.
  • Dimmable and smart: Dimmable LED globes in warm, neutral and cool white, and smart globes you control from your phone.
  • Value packs and specials: Consumer value packs, halogen and incandescent globes, and the rare ones for projectors and appliances.

Light globes questions

Can I replace a halogen globe with an LED one?

Usually, yes. A 240 V halogen in a GU10 or bayonet fitting swaps straight to LED. A 12 V MR16 halogen runs off a transformer that may not drive an LED properly; we will tell you whether to change the transformer or the whole fitting.

What colour temperature should I choose?

Warm white (around 2700 to 3000 K) suits living rooms and bedrooms, neutral (4000 K) suits kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, and cool white (5000 to 6000 K) suits garages and work areas. Tri-colour globes let you pick after they are in.

Do you have hard-to-find globes?

Yes. Projector bulbs, oven and fridge globes, pilot lamps and odd bases are the kind of thing Cosmo keeps or can order. Bring the old globe or its markings.
