LED downlights in Sydney: matched at the counter in Kensington

In short. Cosmo Lighting Kensington sells LED downlights and ceiling lights for homes, electricians and commercial fit-outs: value residential downlights, designer low-glare downlights, commercial downlights, surface-mount downlights, oyster ceiling lights, LED battens, interior spotlights, track lighting and the dimmer switches to suit, from brands including Domus, Atom, Lawell, Philips and CLA. Showroom at 91-93 Anzac Parade; trade customers welcome.

Downlights are where most lighting budgets go, and where the wrong choice shows every evening: glare, a cold colour, a dimmer that flickers. We stock tri-colour and dimmable LED downlights across price points, from a value 10 W fixed COB for a rental to deep-set low-glare fittings for a living room, and we can tell you which dimmer works with which.

For bathrooms and outdoor eaves there are IP65 and tiltable wet-area downlights. For garages, laundries and sheds there are LED battens and oysters. Electricians buy here because the stock is on the shelf and the advice is right; homeowners buy here for the same reasons.

  • Value and low-glare downlights: Tri-colour, dimmable, 90 mm cut-out fittings for every room, and deep-set low-glare options for living areas.
  • Commercial and wet-area: Commercial LED downlights, IP65 and tiltable wet-area fittings for bathrooms and eaves.
  • Oysters, battens and track: Oyster ceiling lights, LED batten fittings, interior spotlights and track lighting.
  • Dimmers that work with LED: Trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers matched to the fitting, so your downlights dim without flicker.

LED downlights & ceiling lights questions

What is the difference between a value downlight and a low-glare downlight?

A value downlight has a shallow, flat lens that is bright and efficient but visible from across the room. A low-glare downlight sets the LED deeper in the fitting, often behind a baffle, so you see the light on the floor and furniture rather than the source. Low-glare costs more and suits living rooms and bedrooms; value fittings suit hallways, garages and rentals.

Will my existing dimmer work with LED downlights?

Often not. Older leading-edge dimmers were made for halogen loads and can make LEDs buzz, flicker or fail to dim low. Most LED downlights want a trailing-edge dimmer. Tell us the fitting and we will match the dimmer; Cosmo's guide to dimming LED explains the difference.

Do you sell to electricians and builders?

Yes. Electricians, builders and maintenance staff buy from the Kensington showroom and have done for years. Stock is on the shelf, special orders can be brought in, and the team will chase a discontinued part.
