What IP rating do outdoor lights need?

IP44 under cover, IP65 for anything the rain reaches, IP67 for ground-recessed lights. Near the coast, choose marine-grade brass, 316 stainless or powder-coated aluminium; the product page lists the material and rating.

Warm or cool white outside?

Warm white (3000K). Cool white on a house front looks like a car park and attracts more insects; warm light is kinder to the house and the neighbours.
